From clinical gap to
operating HK company
CareEZ is a dysphagia screening tool we designed, built, and operate — registered in Hong Kong, with real staff, real compliance, and a grant pipeline. Not a demo. Not a shell.
A real clinical problem — and no good tool to address it
Dysphagia (swallowing difficulty) affects a significant portion of elderly and post-stroke patients. Delayed or missed screening leads to aspiration pneumonia, malnutrition, and avoidable hospitalisation. But standard clinical screening is slow, specialist-dependent, and largely paper-based.
The gap was not scientific — it was operational. Clinicians knew what to look for. What was missing was a systematic, scalable way to flag risk early and route patients to the right care level, without adding burden to already-stretched ward staff.
A screening tool — not a diagnostic device
CareEZ is designed to assist early risk identification, not replace clinical judgment. It is a structured, protocol-based screening assistant that surfaces risk signals and generates structured notes — putting the right information in front of the right clinician, faster.
Important: CareEZ is a screening and workflow support tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace assessment by a qualified speech-language pathologist or medical professional. Clinical decisions remain with the clinician.
Protocol design with clinical input
We mapped existing validated screening frameworks (including bedside swallowing assessments) and worked with clinical advisors to define the question logic, risk stratification tiers, and escalation criteria appropriate for ward-level use.
Structured digital workflow
The tool guides a trained ward nurse or healthcare assistant through a standardised assessment sequence. Response patterns map to risk tiers. High-risk signals trigger automatic escalation prompts to the clinical team.
Documentation and handoff
Each completed screening generates a structured note — timestamped, reproducible, ready for the patient record — reducing the transcription burden on clinical staff and improving audit trails.
HK company, real operations
CareEZ is run by a properly registered Hong Kong company — with a local director, company secretary, registered address, and MPF records. Real substance. That foundation is what allows us to engage hospitals, apply for grants, and hold contracts.
A registered, grant-ready operating company
CareEZ did not stay a prototype. It became a properly constituted HK company with compliance in place, positioned for HKSTP and health-tech grant pathways. Here is what that took — and what it produced.
We do not advise from the sidelines — we have built this ourselves
CareEZ is one of three operating companies we built and run in Hong Kong. Every service we offer comes from this direct experience. Here is what that means for a founder working with us.
CareEZ is proof, not a pitch. If we can build a regulated-adjacent healthcare company in HK from zero — and keep it compliant and grant-ready — we can help you do the same in your sector.
